Our annual vacation to Lake Michigan was a little different this year as Jude had a broken leg and it was a tad chillier than usual! We probably booked it a bit early in the year, but we still had a wonderful and relaxing time on the beach. This was Jack’s first time to the beach, but just like his brothers he is a beach bum! Thankfully we rented a place just a few steps from the beach this year so it was easy to get the toddler with the broken leg to and fro. Jack was an angel baby and took several beach naps and the boys loved playing the sand and going on the dune rides. Our tradition is that the boys get a visit from the “pirates” on vacation and they leave them a map to guide them to treasure that is buried on the beach. This year the pirates left metal detectors to aid in their hunt – the boys were SO excited about this and uncovered a treasure chest full of gems and gold coins. While Jude was a bit laid up and unable to get the usual full beach experience, he handled it like a champ and never complained.
